Design Director-Women's
 
Exciting opportunity for a talented Design Director-Women's to join team.  Clean, effortless styling with an element of edginess is the essence of the brand.  
 
Design and develop a saleable line with the aesthetics for the status jean market. Direct and manage the Women's Design team in all stages of development to bulk fit.  Collaborate with Creative Director on meeting the divisional goals.
 
In addition, your primary responsibilities will be:
-Collaborate with the Creative Director to create color, concept and big ideas for each season.
-Work with merchandising and production teams throughout line development to ensure margin goals are met.
-Work with design team on developing trend right styles for all categories and execute to merchandising plan(sku's, price points, fabric qualities, etc)
-Work with textile team on prints/fabric/embroidery and trims for all tops.
-Provide artwork direction per delivery and review print concept boards
-Confirm print color combo, artwork size and print technique.
-Work with graphics team on tee shirt direction. Provide design direction and confirm graphic styles. Review artwork and strike-offs for both development and bulk.
-Work with product development team on all yarn,fabric,prints, and styling development
-Create mill cards prior to each season for the product development team to send out
-Work with director of trim department on all needs including research and designing trims for all categories
-Attend fitting to ensure all fit and aesthetic objectives are achieved.
-Develop and maintain key blocks for all categories
-Manage design team and provide designers with a monthly design calendar to ensure all due dates are met and there is full adherence.
-Shop European and local markets for inspiration.
-Create color cards and mood boards to set the direction for line development for each season.
-Manage the design budget and must adhere to the design/corporate calendar.  Two direct reports: Senior Designer of Knits and Sweaters and Senior Designer of Wovens.  Three Indirect reports.
 
Preferred Skills:

4 year degree in Design and a minimum of 10 years experience

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, Point Carre and Web PDM
-Experience with fabric/yarn and garment construction
-Strong Management skills and knowledge of industry standards
